Phil began his agronomy career in England focussing on intensive management systems within the grain industry before shifting to Kentucky. The shift to Kentucky was driven by a large ag-retailers desire to see similar management systems effectively introduced in the local grain industry. Programs to which Phil was involved in have been attributed to the Kentucky state average grain yield double over a 20 year period.
Drill and Air-seeder modifications
Phil’s extensive practical agronomy experience has seen him understand the need to better establish crop populations in order to achieve maximum yield potential. His belief is “Well sown, half grown”. With this in mind, the Needham Ag Technologies product range has been shaped around modifying farmers current seeding equipment to get them to optimise seed placement and seedling establishment.
Due to machine popularity, Needham Ag Technologies offer an extensive range of replacement and modification components for John Deere and Case IH disc seeders and Martin Planters. These components may also fit other machinery brands depending on the componentry.
- John Deere models supported include: JD1850, JD1860 and JD1890
- Case IH models supported include: 500 and 500T
Needham Ag Technologies supporting Australian grain producers
As the popularity of John Deere disc seeders in South Australia began to increase in the early 2000s, farmers operating them began to look abroad for knowledge on how maximise their effectiveness. Improving their effectiveness was being attributed to after market product modification of which Needham Ag Technologies offered an extended range with the proven practical adoption. In 2010, AG Schilling & Co imported their first Needham Ag Technologies components for the farming operation and a small group of clients.
In 2018, AG Schilling & Co expanded with a new company, agculture, to pursue and prosper by exclusively dealing with Needham Ag Technologies in Australia.
